Dell Children’s Comprehensive Fetal Care Center, the first and only of its kind in Central Texas, continues to transform care for families navigating high-risk pregnancies. Since opening its doors, the center has grown into a nationally-recognized program, providing expert care for babies with complex and rare fetal conditions—from congenital heart defects and diaphragmatic hernias to twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome and spina bifida.
Under the leadership of Dr. Kenneth Moise, Jr., a UT Health Austin fetal medicine specialist with a legacy of building fetal care centers across the country, the team delivers highly coordinated, family-centered care from diagnosis through delivery and beyond. The program’s remarkable growth reflects the center’s commitment to bringing world-class, compassionate care close to home for Central Texas families.
This milestone was recently marked by the story of Emily Kauten and her daughter Eleanor, Dell Children’s 1,000th fetal care patient. After learning of complications during her pregnancy, Emily turned to the center, where a dedicated team guided her every step of the way. Thanks to the expert, integrated care she and Eleanor received, both mom and baby are now thriving.
