Heart Transplants Now HERE at Dell Children’s

Dell Children’s is excited to announce the launch of the first Pediatric Heart Transplant Program in Central Texas. Heart transplants are a critical component of the cardiology and cardiac surgery program at Dell Children’s, which continues to grow thanks to your support.

This is a major step in Dell Children’s effort to provide the best care for the most complex cardiac cases in the region.

As Dell Children’s grows to ensure that children and their families can remain HERE for care, the addition of the Heart Transplant Program means patients and their families will no longer have to travel far from home for this life‐saving complex surgery.

The Heart Transplant Program, a strategic collaboration dedicated to a coordinated approach to caring for infants, children and adolescents with end‐stage heart disease, will start evaluating and listing children and adolescents in need of a new heart. The Texas Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease team, led by Charles D. Fraser Jr., M.D., have dedicated their careers to treating children with heart failure. We are extremely proud of the work they have accomplished to serve families.

We hope you are as excited as we are about the new heart transplant program at Dell Children’s. We invite you to learn more and consider making a gift today. Thanks to the ongoing generosity of the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation all gifts to Dell Children’s to support our new heart transplant program will be matched through their $30 million matching grant.
