The Challenge for Shelby Bean
Shelby Paige Bean, 28 years old, died tragically in a car wreck on June 25th 2020 in Austin, Texas. At the time of her passing, Shelby was employed with Dell Children’s Medical Center in Austin, working in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. Shelby loved medicine and really enjoyed Pediatrics. She had an enormous heart for helping anyone in need. Beginning on June 15, 2021 in honor of Shelby and her life, her sister Katie Bean and brother in law Michael Atchley are facilitating the Inaugural Shelby Bean 10-day Challenge Fundraiser. It’s summer time and that means our friends at Dairy Queen are busy making sweet treats and fundraising for Dell Children’s! Stop by your neighborhood DQ and get a miracle balloon icon with your blizzard – 100% of funds raised stay right here in Austin to help ensure local kids can get the care they need in their own backyard. Donate now through July 31st.
Walmart | Sam’s Club
Associates at all Austin area Walmarts and Sam’s Clubs will be raising critical funds for the kids at Dell Children’s from June 28th through July 25th. As you stock up on all your household needs this summer, take a moment to donate in support of the kids at the register. Whether it is with your in person cashier or at the self checkout stand, you have the chance to give a little and help a lot!
Thank you Central Texas KFC partners for raising an incredible $34,570.24 for the kids and families at Dell Children’s Medical Center. Coupon Book sales this spring benefited Dell Children’s 100% and these critical funds will help to ensure that no family has to leave Austin to get the care they need for their child, no matter the diagnosis. Nate Boyer’s Running with Heart for his First Marathon
A heartfelt thank you to Nate Boyer and his incredible efforts in a solo run of the 26.2 mile Austin Marathon route on Valentine’s Day raising over $20,000 for Dell Children’s Heart Program. We are also especially grateful for the Moody Foundation matching funds that helped us reach this total. Thank you and congratulations to everyone who helped to make this a success for the kids!
