September is National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and this month, we’re spotlighting the efforts of our CBCC and the team of medical professionals who’ve dedicated their lives to finding cures.

To prepare for their life-changing surgeries at Dell Children’s, sisters Heidi and Harper Gaffney from San Antonio turned to music to help them relax. For both girls, the choice of artists was clear—Taylor Swift, Harry Styles, and Olivia Rodrigo.

In their home, just biking distance from Dell Children’s Medical Center, evidence of the three young children Dr. Peter Gilbreath and his wife, Libby Chennell—Hank, Gus, and Alfie—is everywhere.

Earlier this month, former and current patients and their families joined donors, members of the Dell Children’s Foundation, members of the Ascension Seton Williamson Foundation Board of Trustees, and the Dell Children’s North Advisory Council to celebrate the first anniversary of Dell Children’s Medical Center North.

In 2018, after struggling with infertility for nearly a decade, Laura and Blain Martin celebrated the birth of their son Henry following a complicated delivery and emergency c-section. After a short stay in the NICU, baby Henry was home with his family.

We’re excited to share that after four months of growing bigger and stronger at our hospital, Baby Le’Lani is now home with her loving family.

Ascension Texas is excited to announce the appointment of Michael Wiggins DBA, FACHE, as the new President of Dell Children’s, which now includes Dell Children’s Medical Center as well as Dell Children’s Medical Center North.
